Foreign students will be accepted to Master and Doctoral degree programs of the departments of Karabuk University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences in Academic Year, 2016-2017 Fall Term as stated below. Foreign candidates are required to apply to Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences between 01-24 June, 2016 through internet. It is to whom it may concern.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS
 
A- APPLICATION CONDITIONS REQUIRED FOR GRADUATE PROGRAMMES
 
(1)   Foreign candidates who have already graduated from BA or MA degree and applied for post graduate education submit the documents stated below after filling the Institute application form online or by hand right on time determined by Institutions.
a)     Having equivalence certificate of BA or MA nostrificated by YÖK,
b)     Having the documents showing the result of ALES (The Entrance Examination for Academic Staff and Graduate Studies) or GRE
c)     Having the documents received from TOMER (Turkish Language Teaching Center) showing their competency in Turkish “at least level B2”
d)     Having the document showing competency in foreign language (for doctoral program applicants)  
(2)   Those applicants who do not have Turkish competence from TOMER(at least B2 level)  are required to take the exam which is arranged by TOMER. Those who take score from TOMER exam 70 out of 100 gain right to have post graduate education. Those who are not successful are granted at most two semesters to learn Turkish. In the meantime the applicants who receive level A or B in the examination conducted by TOMER gain right to have post graduate education in following semester.
(3)   Turkish Language proficiency is not required for applicants who graduated from any undergraduate or graduate programs in Turkey.
(4)   Foreign Candidates applying for PhD programs are required to take the score of at least 55 out of 100 of YDS (The Foreign Language Examination) belonging to any of English language or an equivalent score of examinations (YDS – Foreign Language Exam, KPDS- The Foreign Language Examination for Civil Servants, UDS - The Interuniversity Foreign Language Examination, TOEFL) adopted by the Interuniversity Board.
(5)   Foreign Language proficiency is not required for applicants who graduated from the undergraduate or graduate programs where medium of instruction is English both in Turkey and abroad.
 
 
B- EVALUATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICANTS
 
a)     Applicants will be accepted to post graduate programs after the evaluation of the documents showing the result of ALES and the written exam in their branch. Candidates for master degree are required to take Foreign Language Proficiency Exam before evaluation. Applicants who take the score of 55 out of 100 of YDS (The Foreign Language Examination) or equal scores adopted by the Interuniversity Board are exempt from this examination. Evaluation of the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam and the Written Exam is carried out by at least 3 at most 7  jury comitte selected by Executive Board of the Institute at request of the Department. Foreign Language Proficiency Exam is made up of a 200 word- text translation from target language into Turkish in 2 hours, the text relevant to applicants’ field is translated keeping to the meaning of the text. In this exam, use of dictionary is free. In Foreign Language Proficiency Exam pass mark is % 60 of total marks. Those who do not take Foreign Language Proficiency Exam despite not being exempt from or who take and fail in this exam are unable to take Written Exam.
b)     In acceptance of master program, pass mark is calculated by taking % 70 of ALES and % 30 of Written Exam. Written Exam is evaluated out of 100. Those who do not take Written Exam or take the score of below 60 are regarded as unsuccessful. Those who take score of 65 out of 100 are accepted to graduate programs ranging according to their success rate on space available basis.
c)     In acceptance of doctoral program, pass mark is calculated by taking % 70 of ALES and % 30 of Written Exam. Written Exam is evaluated out of 100. Those who do not take the Written Exam or take score of below 65 out of 100 are regarded as unsuccessful. Those, with bachelor degree, who take score of 70 out of 100 and who take 75 are accepted to graduate programs ranging according to their success rate on space- available basis.
(1)   Application files of the applicants are evaluated as a whole by a relevant Department (16. Article of graduate education and examination regulation and article 5(2 and 3) of this prescript) Successful candidates’ acceptance is granted by the Executive Board of the Institute. 
(2)   Candidates certifying they are scholarship students of Turkish Republic or of their own country are accepted to graduate programs apart from quota by the decision of Executive Board of the Institute.
(3)   Those who apply to graduate studies on the basis of bilateral agreements in which Karabuk University is a party shall be accepted to the graduate programs apart from the quota with the opinion of the related Department Chair, decision of the Executive Board of the Institute and approval of the Senate.
(4)   Those who are not exempt with bilateral agreements shall be obliged to pay the fees decided by the Executive Board of the University within the framework of the cabinet decision.
 
C- APPLICATION
 
a)     Application must be made in 01-24 June, 2016.

D- FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY AND WRITTEN EXAMINATION
 
Foreign Language Proficiency Exam and Written Exam shall be conducted in related Department on the dates announced.

F-DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR FINAL REGISTRATION
 
a)     The Copy of Transcript certified by the Institute,
b)     An Application form and the other relevant documents attached to the application form. These documents must be certified by the Institute,
c)     The Copy of Student visa provided by the Offices of Foreign Affairs. This copy must be certified by the Institute,
d)     Student visa copy provided by Foreign Delegations certified by the Institute,
e)     The Copy of Passport certified by the Institute,
f)      Residence Permit for education,
g)    3 photographs (taken within the last six months),
h)     The document which certifies the payment of tuition fee.
 
ATTENTION :
1-     It is obligatory for applicants to attend the final registration personally. Those alleging an excuse are allowed to register if they give the procuration to somebody else who can substitute for them.
2-     In the case of giving false declaration, students may not take advantage of the final registration right.
